Access to reliable and verified technical specifications of photovoltaic components (PV modules and inverters) is important for solar industry users. Even though some initiatives to provide this data exist, their weak points are outdated and unverified information and insufficient transparency. Within the SERENDI-PV project, we have developed a web platform called PV Components Catalog, or PVCC. This solution serves the following needs:

  1. It can be used as one single point for manufacturers to insert technical specifications of their photovoltaic products
  2. Information inputs from manufacturers are automatically verified, reviewed by domain experts, and categorized depending on a confidence about the registered technical information
  3. Photovoltaic software developers can use information from this platform as a source of technical input into their energy simulation and analysis algorithms
  4. Professionals have access to the technical information stored in the platform and  results of the review process for inquiries about PV components
  5. Access to the platform is offered via an interactive web-based interface and via API (for automated communication with other software tools). The general exploration of the information is possible with unrestricted access. Restricted access to customer-specific data and services is also available.

Below, the main features of the PVCC are showcased in a video.
